Last Meeting
Bruce Hopper, Senior Genetic Counsellor was our speaker this month. He took the ladies through a scenario explaining the complexities of having your DNA tracked and provided lots of opportunity for interaction. Bruce also bought along his student Jacquie Greig, who gave the group a very interesting Power Point presentation on Gynaecological cancers, discussing the links to these cancers with other cancers being researched.
A big thank you to Lorraine, who has been very busy over the past month representing our group. Lorraine was invited to speak with the Lions Club, Forster Bowling Club Bowlers and the Forster Tuncurry Sporties Ladies Bowlers. During these visits Lorraine was able to give an insight to what our group is all about and spoke on how the funds donated by their groups were being used to support local people undergoing cancer treatment. Lorraine took along a display of our packs to show so they could see exactly what we distribute through the local Hospitals and Oncology units.
On behalf of all our ladies I would like to take this opportunity to wish Carol & Bernie all the best with their relocation to Sydney. Carol has played such a big part in the running of our group over the years and will be sadly missed by us all.
Morning Tea 21st September 2026 10am
Morning Tea this month will be held at the Tuncurry Golf Club, The Northern Parkway Tuncurry, come along for a social chat, Coffee/tea & cake.

Next Meeting Wednesday 7th OCTOBER 2026 4pm Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club
There will be no actual meeting held, instead, we will be hosting our annual “Breast Friends” BCNA Mini Field of Women. We hope that you are all able to join us for afternoon tea followed by a short ceremony. The invitation is open to anyone in the community that would like to join us to acknowledge our Fighters…….Survivors…….and pay respect to those who have passed.
