October 2026 update

***Next Meeting WEDNESDAY 4th NOVEMBER 2026 at 4pm

Please note that our meeting on the 4th November 2026 will now be held in the “Meeting Room” at Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club and not the “Show Room”( as previous meetings to date),the “Meeting Room” is situated beside the Children’s play area to the rear of the Club.

MARGARET’S UNDERFASHIONS TAREE

Karen from Margaret’s Underfashions Taree has decorated her business with our Pink Ladies for October, if you are in Taree, pop in and say hi to Karen in Centrepoint Arcade. She has a raffle running in store with a chance to win a $70 voucher storewide with tickets just $2 each. ***

“Breast Friends” BCNA Mini Field of Women

This month we held our annual “Mini Field of Women”. Thank you to our “Breast Friends” ladies for the huge team effort to make this event so successful. We had over 60 people attend our event this year.They included Cr. Janeece Irving from Mid North Coast Council, Candice Brown representing Tanya Thompson MP, Bruce Hopper Senior Genetic Counsellor, Lynda Dunsby Forster Private Oncology Nurse, Taryn Robinson from Robinson Lymphatic Care, Kay Worley our website expert, plus representatives from Gloucester Breast Cancer Support Group, Great Lakes Palliative Care, Manning Valley Can Assist, Boomerang Bags Forster Tuncurry, Rocks Kidz Forster, Sporties Bowling Ladies and Forster Golf Ladies along with family and friends of past & present members. A huge thank you to Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club for the care taken to make this event so special. The presentation of the room and the Afternoon Tea supplied was exceptional. Thank you also to Tuncurry Pharmacy and our group members Anna, Amanda and Woolworths Forster, Lorraine, Michelle, Cathy, Janet and Jean for the donation of raffle prizes to be won on the day. Lorraine, Verelle and Lesley did a wonderful job conducting our Ceremony. Lorraine welcomed all that attended and thanked them all for their continuous support to our group, Verelle read our group poem that was written by our very talented member Joan Periera and when Lesley read out the names of our White Ladies the room was emotionally silent in respect for those that have passed.

Below are some photos of one of our group members, Amanda who spoke about her experience of Breast Cancer diagnosis at the Pink Up Cocktail Party event held at Thirty Three Degrees recently. She also featured in an article in The Advocate speaking on the importance of our wonderful McGrath Cancer Care Nurses. Thank you Amanda for sharing you story with the community.

At our next meeting we will have the pleasure of Taryn Robinson as our Guest Speaker. Taryn has recently opened Robinson Lymphatic Care located in Tallwoods Village. Taryn provides gentle, specialist lymphatic drainage massage to support your body’s natural lymphatic system, reduce swelling and promote overall wellbeing.

All women who have experienced breast cancer are welcome to attend our meetings (first Wednesday every month at 4.00pm Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club).
